A Sweet Surprise: The Little Generosity Shop.

A super sweet surprise is coming to Port Elizabeth this weekend and you don’t wanna miss it!

I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge chocolate-lover, and Cadbury has always been at the top of my list of brand faves. It can’t be beaten. When my sister and I were younger, my Mom had a friend that worked at Cadbury who always spoiled us with slabs of chocolate during her visits. The excitement was realllll! But you know what excites kids even more than chocolate? Toys.

Everyone who knows me knows how much of a Barbie fanatic I was, but that’s a story for another day, lol. I’m sure that everybody reading this gathered a considerable amount of toys throughout their childhood. When we get older, all most of these toys, although important symbols of our childhoods, become room decor, or forgotten relics in the back of our closets.

And don’t get me started on all of the books we manage to accumulate throughout our lives and let sit on the shelf, mostly forgotten #guilty

But this doesn’t have to be the case. These forgotten items of ours can become treasure for someone else.

South Africa is home to a lot of beautiful things but unfortunately, it is also home to millions of orphans, who don’t get to experience luxuries like toys and books the way that we did.

Cadbury South Africa recognised this huge need in the community and came up with a clever way to get the public involved – The Little Generosity Shop! At various spots around the country, members of the public will have the opportunity to drop off any old toys or books, and receive a Cadbury Milk Chocolate bar in return. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me! Not only will you be making an impact on a child’s life, you’ll be receiving some amazing chocolate in return as well.

If you are in Port Elizabeth this weekend (the 15th & 16th of June at the Baywest Mall), or any of the following areas during the dates mentioned, give the Little Generosity Shop a visit and tell a friend!

  • Johannesburg: Sandton City, Checkers Court (29 May – 17 June)
  • Durban: Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Centre Court (25 June – 8 July)
  • Cape Town: Canal Walk Shopping Centre, Centre Court (19 July – 5 August)

The mobile ‘Little Generosity Shop’ will also be visiting:

  • Bloemfontein: Loch Logan (7, 8 & 9 June)
  • Pretoria: Irene Village Mall (28, 29 & 30 June)
  • Nelspruit: Riverside Mall (12, 13 & 14 July)

What a sweet surprise for South Africa’s orphaned children and for you, too.
