Intle Boutique Hotel & Private Reserve.

Hellooo beautiful people!Β

I hope you’re having a lovely week, and if you aren’t, at least Friday is just around the corner. πŸŽ‰

Last Sunday (July 28th), we celebrated my Mom’s birthday with a beautiful lunch at the lovely Intle Boutique Hotel & Private Reserve!Β

I’d actually never heard of the place until my Mom told us about it. It just goes to show how many hidden gems lie waiting to be discovered here in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.Β

Intle surpassed all of our expectations and was a dreamy experience from start to finish. The hotel lies between Port Elizabeth and Jeffrey’s Bay, so it took us less than an hour to get there.Β

I love how driving just outside of town can be enough to leave you feeling like you’ve been transported to a whole other universe. We spotted wildlife as soon as we entered the gates, how stunning is this view?!Β

In spite of it being winter, we were blessed with wonderful warm, sunny weather.Β

First on the agenda was to have a little look around and walkabout outside. The view from the deck was amazing! Perfect spot for a pool, too…

The first thing that struck me when we walked in, and that I couldn’t get over throughout our visit, was the decor. I’ve never seen such a cohesive theme within a space, or killer display of interior design skills in my entire life! Whoever the interior designer was deserves an actual medal, wow. Every single piece of furniture, picture frame on the wall, and light fixture, fit together perfectly. I fell in love with all the warm brown tones, too.

The view from our table!

The next thing that blew us away was the fooood!! I’d give the presentation a solid 11 out of 10 πŸ˜‚ Seriously! The quality of the food was exceptional, and every dish was just so colourful and flavourful.

My starter: Tomato soup and Mascarpone with grilled Bruschetta…

Our mains! I went for the pasta with roasted veggies and sun-dried tomato base sauce with Parmesan shavings.Β

My sister Gloria enjoying her meal…

For dessert, I picked the Apple and Pear crumble with vanilla Gelato. It was a huge departure from what I’d normally get but it was still so tasty! The combination of textures and flavours was perfect.

After lunch we were back outside to explore the grounds. Nothing but open fields and blue skies stretching as far as the eye could see.Β

We got to have a tour of the rest of the lodge and had a look inside the rooms. All I can say is that I would kill to spend at least one night here πŸ˜‚ The rooms were all so cosy- looking and well furnished. The bathrooms were just as exquisite.Β

The lodge has had quite a number of famous visitors such as professional surfers Stephanie Gilmore, Kelly Slater and Joel Parkinson to name a few. It’s not hard to see why one would want to come (and keep coming back) to this magical place.Β

I think we all wished that our visit could last forever! But our afternoon soon came to an end. We were treated to an amazing view of even more wildlife on our way out.Β

We had such an amazing time at Intle Boutique Hotel. The location was peaceful and quiet, and the staff treated us so well from the moment we first arrived. A huge thank-you to Leticia and Mario for being such lovely hosts, for showing us around and checking up on us throughout our visit and being so warm and friendly.Β

If you’re ever in the Eastern Cape, make sure to pop into Intle! I can guarantee you that your visit will be an experience that you won’t soon forget. ✨
